California — Live Oceanographic Model

The SpearFactor Dive Conditions Tool gives California divers a single dashboard for real-time dive visibility, fish-activity forecasts, swell, tide, wind, and a 5-day outlook across more than 30 dive spots from San Diego to Humboldt. It pulls from multiple live oceanographic data sources — including NOAA, CDIP, and the National Weather Service — and translates them into a clear visibility estimate and spearfishing opportunity read for each spot, so you can decide where and when to dive without piecing together five different reports.
Visibility estimates are validated against real diver reports throughout the season. The tool is free, works on mobile, and can be installed as an app straight from your browser.
